Contrary to many beliefs Spanish people
do care and love their pets.
There are many veterinary surgeons operating in all areas of Spain, many,
have English speaking staff and surgeons.
The level of care given is equal to the UK and first class while being
reasonably priced.
The services given are similar to at home including out of hours and
emergency contact.
Hotels, boarding kennels and catteries can also be found, again
at reasonable costs if required.
We strongly advise that you use only reputable and established
veterinary
surgeons.

Pet
Passports:
Taking your pet to England (UK)
For the first time you will need a ' Pet Passport '.
To get a 'passport' your pet must have a microchip fitted, rabies vaccination
and a blood test must be carried out by your vet.
You will be given a health certificate around 6 months later.
Please ensure that all subsequent vaccinations are given by the ' valid date '.
24-48 hours prior to boarding the Shuttle they require tick/tapeworm treatment
we can assist and arrange this for you.
If bringing your pet to Spain, you will need your pet to have a Rabies
vaccination and be micro-chipped prior to travel. We advise that a blood-test be
carried out in Spain should you wish to return to the UK at a later date.
The Pet Travel Scheme
(pets) is
the system that allows pet animals
from certain countries to enter the
UK without quarantine as long as
they meet the rules. It also means
that people in the UK can take their
pets to other European Union (EU)
countries, and return with them to
the UK. They can also, having taken
their pets to certain non-EU
countries, bring them back to the
UK without the need for
quarantine.
